Insider tip for touring ski enthusiasts
Due to its special location, on a former ski slope, the Chiemsee Chalet is the ideal starting point for ski and snowshoe tours from the front door.
Tobogganing
From the Chiemsee Chalet you can start directly on foot the wintry hike on snowy forest paths to the Hofalm. With a relaxed walk with the sled in the escort, you can start the descent back to the chalet after about an hour at about 1000 hm.
Rental sleds are available on request at the house.
Trails and slopes
In the nearby winter sports resorts of Sachrang, Reit im Winkl, Ruhpolding or Kössen, both cross-country skiers and alpine skiers will find a wide range of trails and slopes.
Even through our sleepy village of Frasdorf and then on to the neighboring communities of Samerberg or Aschau, a groomed cross-country ski trail leads through idyllic Chiemgau nature during the winter season.

Kampenwand cable car
Fun on the slopes in the immediate vicinity is promised by the natural ski slope on the Kampenwand with the nostalgic Kampenwand cable car in the neighboring village of Hohenaschau.
Hikers can also reach the Kampenwand comfortably by cable car. A beautiful winter hiking trail with a panoramic view of Lake Chiemsee awaits you here, as well as rustic alpine pastures for a cozy Bavarian stop afterwards.

Skiwelt 2000 with 288 kilometers of slopes and 80 alpine pastures can be reached by car from Chiemsee Chalet in just over three quarters of an hour.
Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding
Every year in January, the World Cup in Biathlon takes place in the Chiemgau Arena in Ruhpolding in front of tens of thousands of spectators. But also amateur athletes can try their hand at the shooting range in the Chiemgau Arena and sporulate on the trails of the top athletes.

In the Ruhpolding ice rink, both beginners and experienced skaters can glide across the ice.
